Vukovic’s Mate requires the interaction of a rook and a knight to checkmate the enemy king on the edge of the board. Often another piece is involved in the mate to support the attacking knight and rook. Vukovic’s Mate is named after International Master Vladimir Vukovic who demonstrated this chess pattern in his book ‘The Art of Attack in Chess’.
