Drummer_GD_Elijah: Understand Importance of Center (Case Study#5)

Dear Drummer_GD_Elijah, I have checked your profile, and reviewed some of your games.

There are many things that you should pay attention while playing chess game, like basics of chess, how to control the center, this is very important for all chess players, because if you don’t have a center you will be destroyed in few minutes.

Here is one of your chess games, in which you have lost your center.

Opening Suggestions:

There are three phases in chess game, let’s talk about the opening. What is the goal in the opening ? and how will you achieve this goal?

In the opening, you should control the center and develop your pieces and castle your king to safety.

That should be your goals in the opening. As you watched above game, you notice that your center has been destroyed by black pieces in the opening. I will not talk about the result, as many things involve in results but the point is that you lost the center in the opening.

So next time you play chess, you should protect your center as long as you can, and try to break your opponent’s center if you can, because if you have the center then you will have more power and that power will be used in attack.

Middlegame Suggestions

In the middlegame you were not looking into the weakness, you should create a weakness in the middlegame and exploit. If you don’t know about the weakness in chess, you may read this article: https://chessrewards.com/how-to-create-weakness-in-chess/.

Endgame Suggestions

In the endgame you should have two things in mind, how to create a passed pawn and how to create more weakness like isolated pawn, doubled pawn etc.

Conclusion

In the opening, try to have solid and unbreakable center which will guarantee you a smooth win, in the middlgame, create a weakness, in the endgame, create a passed pawn.

Let’s finalize these suggestions in mind map.
